For two days the 2015 á Maurice Viognier filled our glasses and delighted our palates. It is another of a Washington white to enjoy now and have on hand for the summer months.
The wine is full bodied with a round palate. It weaves a delicate balances of floral and fruit notes with white flowers, honeydew, meyer lemon and wet stones. The wine’s naturally high acidity cleanses the palate.
It is a food wine for now and later. Now it would be a welcome partner to brandade, creamy soups with potatoes and stinging nettle, roasted halibut in green garlic pesto. Come summertime this wine will pair well with tomato salad, grilled tuna, King Salmon tartar. Or, a nice chilled glass on a balmy evening to round out the day sounds pretty good right about now.
