A relaxed style of Nebbiolo for mid week sipping. The wine is ready for drinking and marketed as such with an easy to open screw cap closure. It’s a lighter bodied wine with flavors of red cherry, dried rose, subois, and fine chalky tannins.
Barolo and Barbaresco may get all the attention. Let them sit and wait. This is a wine that can be enjoyed now without concerns about drinking window.
The 2015 Popolo di Indie would pair well with some fish dishes. The salmon will be running soon in Alaska. Fresh King and Sockeye will be in abundance once again in the Pacific Northwest. Pinot Noir, especially that from the Willamette Valley, pairs well with poached or roasted salmon. This Langhe Nebbiolo would be a beautiful alternative.
