I have recently been trying to focus on getting more complete sleep. Blocking out that time and getting ‘it all’ done can run you ragged. I’m trying out a few new things to shake up the nightly routine. One new addition is the ever trendy golden milk.
The snickerdoodle dough has been in the fridge waiting to be baked. To close out the week the cookies were baked, the tumeric elixir was warmed, and I donned slippers and pjs.
The golden milk recipe is adapted from Wellness Mama
- Tumeric Powder 1/2c
- Water 1/2c
- Whole black pepper 1 1/2t
- Virgin coconut oil 5T
Combine the tumeric powder, water and black peppercorn in a pot over medium heat. Stir until it forms a thick paste. I lowered the heat and added more water. I found the mix dried out before the recommended cooking time elapsed. Keep a cup of water near by to adjust if necessary. Add the coconut oil off the heat. Store in a glass lidded jar in the fridge.
- Golden Paste 1t
- Coconut Milk 2c
- Honey 2t (optional)
Combine the ingredients in a pot over medium heat. Do not boil. Whisk, strain, and serve.
