Cooking Out

Outside the smell of charcoal wafts through the air.  The distinctive musk of drilling salmon travels enticingly through the air from the neighbor’s yard.  It’s a nice choice to be sure.  Tonight we have gone classic, gone simple with ‘dogs and buns on the grill.  Chilled, local wit beer sits ready in the cooler.

Holy Mountain Brewing ‘The Seer’ is a wit beer with a crisp finish.  It has a light farmhouse funk that gives the beer complexity and nuance.  There is more going on here than your average brew.  It’s what you would expect from a small producer working with intention to create a local product with a distinct flavor profile.

It was one of the first nights cooking out.  The making the change from cooking indoors all winter long feels a bit alien.  As the evening stretches on it is liberating to have the sky as your ceiling and the gentle breeze of twilight kissing your face.
